by admin

At Spectrum, we carry a lot of excellent books for our customers to enjoy. All of them are excellent sources of science and fun, but a few stand out as great sellers.

Book of Irresponsible Science

The Book of Totally Irresponsible Science

A step up to a higher level over the 101 Great Science Experiments and get a bit more, well, irresponsible! In this book kids are given instructions on how to turn and egg to rubber, make a sandwich bag bomb, and much more. Although called ‘irresponsible’, the experiments are safe (but might leave a mess). This book hearkens back to the age where kids science books were fun and bit more ‘edgy’ than our more safety concerned age.

Gallop

Gallop is a purely visual appeal book, using SCANIMATION, a modern take on Moire patterns, Gallop let’s you open the pages to watch a silhouette of a horse gallop endlessly, a cat pounce, a dog run, a butterfly flap its wings, and more. For more human motions, consider the partner book Swing

Night Sky Atlas

Night Sky Atlas is large, colorful hardback book with an included CD-Rom tour. The book features magnificent color photos with acetate overlays. Topic covered start with simple constellation identification and go all the way through the life cycle of a star!

Tornado Tube Book

Tornado Tube Book - Subtitled ‘50 Weird and Wacky Things to Do with a Tornado Tube’ this book includes a popular ‘Tornado Tube attached and gives great ideas for 50 different things to try beside the usual tornado tube. Some are informative, some fun, some silly. But overall you get a great bunch of ideas to expand on a popular toy.
