zPix 200 1.3 Megapixel Digital Microscope
Here’s a great bit of fun! An affordable high-resolution digital microscope! The zPix allows you to put highly magnified images up on your computer screen with 1.3 Megapixel resolution. You can magnify things from 26x to 130x and get great images either way.
Galileo Thermometer and Barometer
Here’s an attractive gift. A Galileo thermometer combined with a classic ‘bulb’ barometer. You can watch and predict the change in the weather by seeing how the liquid rises and falls in the barometer’s stem. You can also keep track of temperature with the Galileo thermometer as the balls rise and fall with the changing temperature of the liquid. A great bit of weather fun that is also attractive. But if you know someone who likes the weather and may want something a bit more ‘technical’ you can try:
A great system for keeping track of the weather around your home or office. A great way to keep track of rainfall, windspeed, and other important weather measurements.
Lots of commercials out there trying to push one particular kind of rock: A piece of clear overcompressed carbon. BO-RING! Get someone a nice Geode, available either in Natural or dyed they, and almost all of of our rocks, minerals and fossils are much more interesting than those diamond things.
