Alex Paper Factory
by adminThe Alex Paper Factory is a nifty craft product that also works well in the science realm. Now, we’d be the first to admit that there are a lot of other paper making kits out there, but there is a reason why we carry the Alex version.
The first is the nature of the kit:. Most kits usually just give you some virgin pulp and a screen. There’s little else to but blend the paper and make thick sheets.
Another problem is that recycled paper almost always blends into a thick, blue-gray colored pulp that naturally results in blue-gray paper. This is pretty much inevitable when recycling old paper and makes it pretty hard to use as regular paper. Most kits just leav it at that.
Not the Alex Paper Factory. They acknowledge the color problem and gives you pieces of construction paper to add to the mix to give the paper a more colorful appearance. In addition, Alex provides paints and glitter with which to decorate the newly made paper.
Perhaps best of all, the kits includes a water draining tray..where the water from the pulp mixture drains. Most kits don’t give you this and expect you to do drain it over a sink or a tray you provide. About the only thing the Alex Paper Factory does not include is a blender to make the pulp, but that would be asking a lot.
The Paper Factory is part science, part craft that spans gender and many age groups. Don’t accept any substitutes, get the real thing!
